MUTUAL AID FOR the COMMUNITY BY THE COMMUNITY
Trans Aid Cymru aims to help Transgender, Non-Binary and Intersex (TIN) people through mutual aid support. The project is run by TIN people for TIN people, making it inclusive and understanding of the community needs.

REDISTRIBUTING FUNDS
One of our main aims is making sure TIN people can cover their costs of living and their transition. We help with this by redistributing money through fundraisers and to TIN people in need.
IN NEED OF FUNDS?
We have a few different types of grant available to claim, from everyday assistance grants, emergency funds and fundraising top ups! We have a page to explain them all and how you can apply.
TRANSPARENT FUNDRAISING
Being transparent and accountable is one of our core values as an organization. It’s one of the reasons we chose Open Collective as our financial mechanism.
Open Collective allows everyone to see not only the number of contributions made and the amount contributed, but also the particular area of our work that they’ve gone to. You can choose to donate to fund a counselling session, or to help with our running costs, or for your money to go to for redistribution.

WHAT SUPPORT DO WE OFFER?
We offer support to TIN folks who are struggling, either with their transition or their day-to-day life. We also have connections with other services that can help support you with your daily needs.
Things we’ve helped with include risk of homelessness, loneliness, mental crisis, helping folks access other sources of funds, finding housing, advocacy if you’ve been discriminated against and much more!
OTHER SUPPORT SERVICES FOR TIN PEOPLE
We previously ran a Carrd website full of resources for Welsh TIN people! This website is still active and updated but as TAC grew up we’ve migrated a lot of our projects here. The services on the Carrd vary from Facebook groups to Charities or meet up groups!
